Shayna Smith is a creative and detail-oriented entertainment professional with hands-on experience supporting major television/feature production and development. Currently, Shayna is working at Disney TV Animation, where she is the Production Department Secretary on the upcoming Phineas and Ferb feature release. As PDS, she works entirely within the production pipeline, working directly with showrunners/EPs, directors, artists, and production staff. Shayna is the face of her production team, proudly serving as a friendly, efficient, and passionate resource for all her crew members. Prior to her PDS role, Shayna interned with the DTVA Creative Executive Team in both Development and Current Series, where gained firsthand exposure to major network development and creative executive duties. She has shadowed executives, assisted in development project production, and covered executive desks at the VP level and above. Above all, she’s excited that she gets to work in the medium she’s loved her entire life. She hopes to (someday!) run a show of her own.

Before her animation career, Shayna attended Boston University, where she majored in Film and Television and minored in English. She graduated Magna Cum Laude. Shortly after graduation, Shayna was accepted into the Cal Arts Summer Animation Residency of 2024, where she proceeded to further her education in art, design, and animation.

Shayna’s undergraduate studies were primarily focused on writing and directing. Her thesis film, “Frere Jacques,” is a live action horror short that explores family dynamics and grief. “Frere Jacques” has been accepted into 11 festivals internationally and won a multitude of awards; including “Best Horror,” “Best Art Direction” and two nominations for “Best Student Film.”

Outside of her entertainment experience, Shayna is an accomplished figure skater: she has performed internationally with Disney On Ice and represented Team USA in theatrical skating.
